Ein Traum Innerhalb Eines Traums

Diesen Kuß nach der Braue nehmen! Und, wenn es jetzt von Ihnen, so
zerteilt, ließ viel mich anerkennen -- Sie sind nicht falsch, der
meinen, daß meine Tage ein Traum gewesen sind; Dennoch, wenn Hoffnung
weg in eine Nacht geflogen ist, oder an einem Tag, in einem Anblick
oder in keinen, ist er folglich weniger gegangen? Alle, die wir sind
sehen oder scheinen, aber ein Traum innerhalb eines Traums.

Ich stehe unter dem Brüllen eines Brandung-tormented Ufers, und ich
halte innerhalb meiner Handkörner des goldenen Sandes -- wie wenige!
dennoch, wie sie durch meine Finger zum tiefen kriechen, während ich
weine -- während ich weine! O Gott! kann ich nicht sie mit einem
festeren Haken greifen? O Gott! kann ich nicht ein von der
erbarmungslosen Welle speichern? Ist alles, das wir sehen oder
