THE OLD RED SPITTOONPosted by Kimberley Mclean on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at 9:02:59 AMTHE OLD RED SPITTOON Current mood: bouncy Category: Music I wrote this song as a small protest against the soon to be implemented smoking ban. And, whilst the non-smokers are cheering and the smokers are cursing, it is the bigger picture that is more worrying. How far will it go? Will it never end? Is the circle of life ever turning? :-X It is a fun song with an important message. An Anthem for all of us who believe in a free spirit. Although I would have liked to sing this song myself, I had to bow down to the truth and accept that it is a "mans" song. My friend, Jim, stepped up to the mic and the demo was made. A two and a half minute traditional Irish folk story. This song is ideal for Saint Patrick's day celebrations. It is the traditional Saturday nights knees up at the Local (while it is still there). I can just imagine the people standing outside the pub on a cold, wet and windy evening having a quick cigarette and singing "The government have had their joke" You can listen to this song at www.myspace.com/kimberleymclean God/dess Bless ;D KIMBERLEY McLEAN.
