I just wanted to say Hi to everyone!   I'm Emma Southee, a hopeful novelist and Poet.   I'm 26 and have been married for 6 years now.   I have two children, a girl age 6 and 5 y/o boy.  Rob, husband, is in the army, we are stationed in Arizona at the time.  You can find me on myspace and read a little about me or my work on my official site {not too great yet, but working on it}.

UPDATE:  He is in Korea at the moment but we speak to him often and I got to visit him so it is not as bad as when he's been gone before.

I have been reading through the different topic catagories and can see I am going to love it here.    I cannot wait to start reading the poetry and stories, and even debating on some of the other boards.

I am in the process of editing my first manuscript so I may not be very vocal at first.  However, Once I have finished editing the final chapters I will certainly be here to ask for and offer advice.  Roll Eyes

I have also been writing poetry since I was 13

I hope to find many friends here or at least other people who like discussing similar topics.

Em

Welcome Emma...underst and about editing and not being very vocal at first...I work on three different websites currently and that takes up my time and I don't have as much free time to read and do the things that I love so much.  But when I do have a few free moments I'll be here or CT chatting with friends and reading their works...Glad you joined.

Well, I was an airforce brat and my dad was stationed here in 99.  He retired here And I married an army guy.   Now I'm back here as a spouse instead of kid, so I have had my first summer, and monsoon, and tarantulas hahaha

Phoenix is about 3 hours from us, we're on the other side of tucson, but I've been through there many times.   Terrible to drive through on rush hour, but the people are pretty nice that I've seen.

thanks for the welcome!

I know what ya mean Emma about the monsoons.  The very first time I experienced one I was in awe.  I went outside at first but soon realized, after alot of sand in my eyes, that it wasn't a very smart move Grin  Yes you must avoid phoenix at all costs during rush hour, not a fun thing to experience at all.  Well I hope you enjoy Arizona and get the opportunity to look at some of its wonderful places to visit.  Have you been to Tombstone, Katner caverns or the biosphere yet?  If not you owe it to yourself to check them out they are all amazing!  Chat with ya again soon hon
hugs

I love tombstone and have even been to hellderdao days.   I want to take my kids to see karchner caverns, it's only about half an hour from our house, and I've wanted to see the biosphere since i was in high school so I will have to look that up while we're here.

Hi linda!  thanks for welcome.  I am hoping that i find many other writer friends that will stay with me through life here.   And one day I may be able to give others advice for starting out as I have gotten from so many others.
