Please pray for Damien

Damien’s Condition
Hey everyone, I have been wanting to type up a new blog for a while now but with my prenatal app.s and Damien's twice a week app.s it's been really hard to actually get on here and do anything else beside just check my messages! I have been dealing with Damien's illness for about 3 months now! He sees a nerologist and has eeg's almost every week! Damien has Infantil Spasms, which is a rare type of seizure found in infants mostly! It is not cureable, it is a long term illness that can lead to developmental problems and sometimes some sort of mental disablity! He is on 3 different meds. for this...Topamax (18 pills a day) I have to sprinkle them in his food...9 in morning and 9 at night, then he takes a Steriod (8 teaspoons a day) and last his Pepcid ( half teaspoon a day)... this is for the Steriod because it can cause acid reflux and stomach problems! I feel like I am drugging ma lil doodlebug! I have never in my life had to take as many meds at once like he does! His eeg's are improving and hopefully soon he can be taken off the Steriod. In most cases like Damien's the brain waves or never normal....and devolopment in a child slows down or stops completely. The good thing is... in Damien's case his brain waves are abnormal and normal...more normal then ab. His development is still going strong, at first he was slowing down but i think it was more to do with him being scared to do things on his own because of the seizures! He use to have seizures 10 time a day, everyday. Now he can go days without having any and if he does have one it's only one or two! His seizures are very different than what others would look like! All Damien does when he has these seizures is rolls his eye's up and jerks his head down...sometim e without rollong the eye's. More or less he just looks like he is nodding his head! Hopefully my son can have a somewhat normal life and not be medicated long term...at least not with the Steriod because he will gain so much weight! Please keep us in your thoughts and prays! I will need them when Kaiden is born in April because I will have my hands full!
